Well, the big excuse for no new posts in weeks is that
No. 1-my daughter is getting married very soon.
No.2 I've had lots of big, wonderful weddings and
No. 3- I have no time right now.
But.....when my computer problem is fixed and will upload pictures again, boy do I have lots and lots to post! ..................................But that won't be until after June 13th!
Happy holiday weekend everyone!

A Lingerie Bridal Shower
Two weeks ago the bridemaids, sisters and moms held a Lingerie Bridal Shower for Jessie.
Since the theme of the shower was lingerie I just had to try to make a bustier all made of flowers.

Kathy at Oregon dairy did a great job at making a bustier cake. Yummy!

I made the take -home favors of Jessie's favorite shortbread cookies, all decorated like fancy bras and panties.

Boy did she get some nice gifts! She's all set for the honeymoon! The party food was healthy and we laughed so much that none of the calories and fat in the cookies or cake mattered! Erika even made blue martinis and created some really fun games, then Lisa arranged for all the girls to spend the evening together at Spa Orange. How's that for a fun theme bridal shower?
Wedding season has begun and we're really happy about that....especially Jessie and Doug's in only about 6 weeks! Yikes!!!!
The first Spring wedding
Amy and I both made the comment that it's so good to be back in the flower shop. We had a few weeks break after lots of winter weddings, and we're happy to be back into the flowers again.
This wedding features all Tulips. So bright and colorful they just make you smile. Thankfully this couple had a gorgeous day for their wedding.

The Wedding Salon, NYC
It was a great time together with Jonnaysa, Lindsey, Jill, Linda, Leslie, Kris, Joel and Mandy as we walked around NYC, had lunch together at Sax Fifth Avenue, relaxing in the lounge at the Roosevelt Hotel while waiting for the event to open.
Just as we came out of Penn Station and walked toward Rockefeller Center, we spot Mario Lopez taping for 'Extra'. Yep, we were that close. Lindsey said " his dimples are so deep he probably has to clean them with a Q-tip!

As we enter the over-crowded event, we are greeted by a 'tree-thing' that didn't talk, but handed us a little rolled up paper with a word of wisdom. Kinda creepy for a wedding, don't you think? Amy would have really not liked that at all!

Our next stop was to meet Sylvia Weinstock and to have a taste of her famous cake.
Of course the most interesting thing to me was the floral designs.

This was a canopy frame that was covered in 11oo Standard Callas! It was up-lit and breath-takingly gorgeous. Only in NYC!
As we were leaving another human plant -thing to bid us farewell. Then we all crashed on the steps of the hotel to try to lighten the 'goodie' bags they gave us for the long trip home. We look a little pooped- because we are. A little dinner at the Irish Pub and we're headed back to the train station.
Such a good time with some wonderful wedding friends. Thanks to Jill, Leslie and Lindsey for sharing your pictures with me. Till next field trip......happy wedding season friends!

I felt somewhat disappointed that there weren't more.
A beautiful Asian table display.

This one looks like a giant floral ice cream come.

This one below is gigantic!

Last Winter Wedding of the Season
It was a sunny, but freezing cold day for this couple being married at Sacred Heart Church.
The bride carried Latin Lady Roses, with varigated Pittosporum and a collar of Ostrich feathers, all wrapped up cozy in a woven satin ribbon sleeve with pearls and crystals.

Bridesmaids wore beautiful red dresses and carried Virginia Roses with a collar of Million Star Gyp and varigated Pittosporum.

The Groom's mother carried a tiny bouquet of Virginia Roses and White Cymbidium Orchids.
The sweet little flower girl had a white bear with a collar of roses and baby's breath. I have limited pictures this time........
Check out Leslie Gilbert's blog for the post of the wedding and reception at Lancaster Country Club. Be sure and look for Rosie's amazingly beautiful cake. It was beyond gorgeous, and she gave the leftover Buttercream Frosting to Amy. Boy did that make her day...little Hudson's too! Thanks Rosie!!
Can't wait to see and taste what you do for Jessie and Doug's wedding!
Now we have a bit of a break as we meet with couples for the spring, summer and fall seasons.
A little trip to NYC for a big bridal event, the Best of Weddings bridal event at the new Marriott, plus we will be doing a large fundraiser event in May for Brethren Village.
Is it really going to be 50 degrees this weekend? I'll believe it when I see it. Brrrrrrrrr

Wedding Friends Lunch and The Fig Magazine

Jill Fanning and Lindsey Dukeman of the Hamilton Ballroom, Rene of Bellamanse, (me), Leslie Gilbert, Kris McElligott and Leslie's son Braden, Rosie of Rosie's Creative Cakes, and Jonnaysa of Planned Perfection; all in my dining room- notice the ugly wallpaper is gone!!
Leslie set up her camera to get this shot. Both she and Kris arrived with their cameras around their necks. I think they love what they do, don't you???
It is so nice to work with the best wedding vendors in our area, and we enjoyed spending time together today to 'talk shop' and plan a group trip to the Big Apple to attend the Wedding Salon
bridal show. Collin Cowie, Sylvia Weinstock, David Tutera are just a few big names that will be there with all their wonderful displays to inspire us! That's what we 'wedding people' do during the dreary winter months.....find fabulous wedding shows, expos and workshops to stay on top of all the new and inspiring things. Not a bad way to get thru the cold, boring winter months to prepare for the new wedding season... and best of all; we will all board the train and go together!
And............. here is the ad for the Best of Weddings bridal show that was just published in the FIG magazine. Kris McElligot of KMPhotography is the brilliant photographer that created the show's signature look with the hot pink and black feather bird-cage veil as the inspiration for these images. I had the privilege of designing a bouquet for it. Love, love, LOVE this shot!
